Ham Rong is a popular destination for Sapa ecotourism. It’s not far from the middle of the district. This path is the simplest for beginners to hike. Ham Rong mountain, like a dragon lifting his face to the sky, is tiny and carved. The Ham Rong Flower Garden, Thach Lam Stone Garden, and Ham Rong Hilltop are the most important areas for this mountain. Here the scenery of many picturesque places is extremely breathtaking. Superb panoramic views of Sapa are on the top of the peak. Ham Rong Mountain is the perfect time to explore at about 9 am.

The Cat Cat Village is a Black Hmong minority village, just 2.5 kilometers from the village of Sapa. This trekking trail is much more difficult than the route of Ham Rong Mountain in Cat Cat Village downhill from Sapa. Because of the breathtaking views and many sights along the way, the village is the most famous with visitors. People visiting the village can see the local lifestyle. The village of Cat Cat has many attractions, including cascades, traditional homes, flower gardens. Moreover, every day there are appearances by the H’mong tribe.

In the Muong Hoa valley, about 8 – 9 km southeast of Sapa city, the Laos Chai Village (which is also a top tourist location in Sapa) has been hidden. Lao Chai Village is made up of three major villages of over 100 households combined. This is a town with people from H’mong and Giay where visitors can distinguish the tribes by their clothing. Locals are polite and kind here. Many things about their culture and their everyday lives can be learned. The village can be reached by car or motorbike but trekking on the path along the mountain is much more interesting and well worth it. The paddy rice fields, waterfalls, and settlements should not be forgotten.

The village of Ta Van is situated in the Muong Hoa Valley, next to the town of Lao Chai. It is the birthplace of the ethnic Zay and H’mong people. In the lowland, the Zay tribe grows rice and silver while in the high mountains the H’mong tribe chooses corn production. This is one of the best spots to discover the world of local people and relax. There is a short, narrow road to the village. There are plenty of maize and rice terraces on both sides of the road making it an excellent place to hike.
